A few weeks ago I went on a family vacation with my in-laws. In an effort to practice my film photography, I brought along my mom's old 35 mm Nikon N90s and a few rolls of Portra 400 to shoot.
Along our way, Matt & I stopped at one of the rest stops that we had stopped at the year before on our way home from our Honeymoon in Sunriver. This rest stop is somewhere in the very North of California (near Shasta) and last time we were there I took a snap of the same area with my polaroid.
We stayed at a cabin near the Deschutes, where I walked every morning.
The deer were extremely friendly and this mama deer visited the cabin frequently.
On Monday of our trip, my friend Shannon of Broken Pine Studio picked me up and took me to breakfast. Afterwards I got to visit her cute home and see where the magic happens for all her beautiful jewelery. I grabbed a few images of her work and workplace.
Tuesday we drove up to Maupin & went white water rafting. On the way up, we had this fantastic view of Mount Hood!
And on the way back to our cabin we witnessed a fire along highway 97 outside of Madras, Oregon. We got to see 3 airtankers circling the fire -- pretty cool sight to see, but hard to capture with only a 50mm lens.
And at the end of our vacation, we decided on Friday on our way home to stop by Crater Lake. It was well worth it and I wish we could of spent more time there exploring!
And last, but not least, we just had to go out of the way to my parents to pick up our fur babe, Carson!
